The annual winter campaign set out to raise R200 000 in cash donations to assist nongovernmental organisations in providing blankets and food to older persons and children, who are among those most vulnerable during the winter months. Due to the overwhelming generosity of listeners and supporters across Central South Africa, the campaign exceeded its target by more than R123 000, says the station.

All donations were distributed by Round Table South Africa to 36 beneficiaries across the Free State, Northern Cape, North West and Vaal regions. Beneficiaries included old-age homes, children's homes and other organisations caring for vulnerable members of their communities.

"The generosity of our Central South African community is filled with such love. It's who we are as people — to care for our community," says Nick Efstathio, CEO of OFM.

OFM's Marketing and Sales Manager Anchen Lintvelt thanks Round Table South Africa and its volunteers for helping ensure the donations reached those who needed them most. "Being able to work with partners like Round Table South Africa on these types of projects makes the manual labour so much lighter and the distribution of the donations so much faster. To all 18 Tables in Central South Africa, our sincere thanks
for the effort you have made to ensure that the nursing homes and children’s homes are provided with blankets and essential products for the cold winter," says Lintvelt.

OFM extends its heartfelt gratitude to every listener, donor, partner and volunteer who contributed to the success of 'The Big Cover-Up'. Every donation has helped bring warmth, comfort and hope to those facing the challenges of winter, concludes the station.
